A small message.

So throughout my small journey, I’ve learned a lot about this whole mess that’s called youtubing. I’m going to break it down into a few different sections, namely Pre-Production, Filming, Post-Production, and Marketing. I’m going to discuss something I’ve learned for each section, such as a mistake I’ve corrected, new things I’ve learned about, methods, how I’ve branched out on social media, etc. Let’s get right into it.
Pre-Production
I started out making scripts that went super in depth. Really complicated, required multiple revisions, etc. After doing a video with that kind of script, I decided to start making videos with a less complicated, more streamlined script so that way I could give a more focused and educational description of the weapon and game variant for a wider audience. I also tried to make videos on weapons with a story to them as those are more interesting to people as it is more engaging than just some random gun in a game and some numbers It also helped to add a theme to my video. Mg42 and mg34.
Filming
When I first started recording audio for my videos, I did it with my chromebook, which made the audio very low-quality due to the chromebooks microphone and me recording in an echoey room. After my first video, the 20 questions quiz, I started filming the audio with my phone microphone in my computer room so I could improve the quality of my audio, as the small space helped dampen the echo. I also learned later it is better to hold the phone microphone a certain distance away from my mouth to make the audio better.
Post-Production
I learned how to use audio transitions and how to lower volume on specific parts of audio like game volume, music and dialogue. I used the transitions to make my audio cuts smoother and not louder, and not sudden or overly loud nor quiet. I learned how to remove the audio or video from a mp4, (by locking the picture or audio segment, depending on the part I want to save, than delete the other half) this helped me as i could remove game audio if i wanted to. I later used videos of the weapons I was talking about as it was more interesting.
Marketing
I learned to make a website and use social media to advertise my youtube channel. I used social media to post blogs or stories about weapons/historical events that didn’t have enough info to make a video on, or just to draw in attention as to intrigue readers into wanting to know more.
In essence, I’ve learned lots of different methods to improve my videos, as well as different marketing tips and methods to market my channel and grow a following. I’ve learned how to cut and edit videos and sound, create logos, make an outro, use after-effects, and a whole host of other things. I look forward to continuing.
